Ukraine War: Mass Exhumations at Izyum Forest Graves Site

Around 100 Ukrainian emergency service workers dug into the earth at the edge of the forest in the city of Izyum, opening makeshift graves to identify the causes of death among those buried. Ukrainian police say there are 445 new graves at the site—though some contain more than one body—and many are said to be civilians, women, and children.

 

"In the first grave, there is a civilian who has a rope over her neck so we see the traces of torture," said Kharkiv regional prosecutor Olexander Ilyenkov. He also said there is no doubt war crimes have been committed there.
