Samrawit Tassew is a Senior Consultant for ICTJ’s Ethiopia program. She has a wealth of experience in peacebuilding and mediation processes, as well as social justice, women’s rights, government and civil society relations, capacity building, and transitional justice. Before joining ICTJ in 2023, she served as a communications and outreach officer for the African Union Commission, and as the editor-in-chief of Fortune, Ethiopia’s largest English-language weekly newspaper.

We work side by side with victims to obtain acknowledgment and redress for massive human rights violations, hold those responsible to account, reform and build democratic institutions, and prevent the recurrence of violence or repression.
