Makela Artis joined ICTJ in 2022 as the Grants Manager. With over a decade of experience in the Grants/Contract sector from working at Columbia University and New York University, she has managed several aspects of research grants, funding, policies, and procedures.
Makela is responsible for managing grants both international and domestic in its allocation, tracking, and reporting of funding. She provides insight into budget and financial reporting while managing active grants from begin to end date, and liaises with HQ departments and country offices. Makela attended Medgar Evers College and received her Bachelors of Science in Finance and Business Management while receiving other honors.
