Barron Tenny

Barron (Buzz) Tenny served as a member of ICTJ’s Board of Directors from 2011 to 2019, and as a Co-Board Chair in 2019 providing exceptional services to the organization and continuously contributing.  

Mr. Tenny is the former Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of the Ford Foundation, where he worked for 28 years. Prior to joining the Ford Foundation, Mr. Tenny was General Counsel, Vice President, and Assistant Secretary of Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, a community development corporation in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to that, he practiced law in New York City.  

Mr. Tenny is a board member of the Orchestra of the Americas. He is also a member of the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program Advisory Council and Youth Communication Advisory Board. 

Mr. Tenny graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 1969. He received his bachelor’s degree in history and science from Harvard College.
