Marianne Akumu joined ICTJ Uganda in March 2020. She has extensive experience in transitional justice, humanitarian response, gender, law, governance and policy making. Before joining ICTJ she worked as the Transitional Justice Coordinator with ACORD and prior to that as a Legal Research Officer with the Supreme Court of Uganda. She is a recipient of an Obama Foundation scholarship to the University of Chicago where she completed an M.A in International Development and Policy. She also holds a Master of Laws degree in International Development and Human Rights from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Reading.
