KATHMANDU: United Nations Secretary General Ban-ki Moon has urged the political parties to respect internationally accepted principles of justice while setting up a transitional justice mechanism here.
In a press statement, Ban commended the progress in integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants and expressed his hope for a smooth completion of the peace process.
Ban said the transitional justice mechanism should prioritise victims’ rights and be able to operate with full independence.
