Belhassen Trabelsi, the brother-in-law of ousted Tunisian dictator Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, has composed a letter of apology to the Tunisian people stating his willingness to stand before a judiciary commission to answer for the crimes he committed in Tunisia.
"In the perspective of many Tunisians, if not all of them, I am a criminal that robbed the country, violated the people, then fled," Trabelsi stated in the letter, a copy of which was provided by his lawyer Mohamed Hedi Lakhoua to TAP.
