Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission vice chair Tecla Namachanja has urged Kenyans to shun politicians who incite them into violence as the country approach the general election. Speaking in Malindi yesterday, Namachanja said the youth should wary of politicians out to misuse them.
"Most youths are ensnared by politicians who are out to exploit them. I want to tell them to run away from such people for the good of this country." She said most politicians preached water as they drank wine. "They do not encourage Kenyans to embrace peace." "I gone around the different IDP camps in the country. I'm yet to see families of political leaders there. The people who I see are ordinary, helpless Kenyans who are victims of post-election violence," said Namachanja.
The commission told Kenyans that incase of violence; it is them who suffer while their inciters are safe. Namachanja went on: "It is the ordinary people's children that do not attend schools as a result when the children of these leaders are studying abroad."
