Former Member of Parliament (MP) for North Malaita, Daniel Fa’afuna has blamed two former Prime Ministers, Ezekiel Alebua and Bartholomew Ulufa’lu, for failing to address the Guadalcanal people’s demands.
He said the Guadalcanal people first made their demands with a peaceful demonstration in 1988 when Alebua was the Prime Minister, and that instead of dealing with it, the Government shelved it for the next 10 years.
Mr Fa’afuna revealed this when he appeared before the Truth and Reconciliation Commission public hearing for Malaita ex-combatants at Buma, West Kwara’ae.
