Aryeh Neier Delivers Fourth Annual Emilio Mignone Lecture

On October 15, 2008,  The event was co-sponsored by the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) and the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice (CHRGJ) at NYU School of Law.

Juan E. Méndez, President of ICTJ, introduced Mr. Neier, and Paul van Zyl, Executive Vice-President of ICTJ and Director of the CHRGJ's Transitional Justice Program, moderated the discussion that followed.

Mr. Neier's lecture, "Peace v. Justice: Is there a conflict? If so, what should be done?" suggests, with particular reference to the crisis in Sudan and the arrest warrant for Sudanese President Bashir that the International Criminal Court prosecutor has requested, that there is not an inherent conflict between peace and justice and that the pursuit of each may help bring about the other.
