Devon Kearney has worked in development and non-profit management for human rights and social justice organizations for more than ten years. Prior to coming to ICTJ, he was the associate director of the Center for Social Inclusion, a research and policy organization that works to address the effects of structural racism in communities of color.

He was the associate director of development at the Center for Constitutional Rights from 2000 to 2004, where he focused on expanding foundation funding, in particular for CCR’s human rights litigation and post-9/11 civil liberties initiatives. He has also worked as a consultant for non-profit/non-governmental organizations in the U.S. and the developing world, including the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative; Brooklyn Community Housing and Services; the Public Interest Law Firm in N’Djamena, Chad; and the Civil Association for Equality and Justice (ACIJ) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Devon holds a B.A. in philosophy from Reed College and an M.A. from Rutgers University, where his studies focused on the philosophy of psychology and ethics.
